Health & Wellness

Riverstone is dedicated to our residents’ physical, mental and emotional health. It’s a holistic approach to health and happiness that we take, and it makes a world of difference.

Our wellness Centre is staffed by a professional nurse on duty at all times. She’s there to answer any questions or address any health or nutrition concerns. Of course, she’s also ready to respond immediately and effectively should a medical emergency arise.

Oakpark’s resident doctor makes regular visits to the building, as does a nurse specially trained in foot care. Visiting laboratory services also make regular visits for the convenience of those whose health must be carefully monitored.

With Oakpark’s on-site medical support and its proximity to the Ottawa General Hospital and Riverside Medical Centre, residents can enjoy peace of mind, knowing assistance is available 24/7.

Dining & Special Occasions

Oakpark’s inviting dining room offers an elegant dining environment for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

With tablecloths, linen napkins and fine china, it’s like dining at a four-star restaurant. And the food matches the ambiance – with gourmet fare made from scratch by our Chef using the finest and freshest ingredients, with a menu prepared to be both nutritious and delicious.

A variety of tempting choices are presented at each meal, including for those who have special dietary needs. And an outdoor patio area beckons when the sun shines and you feel like dining “al fresco”.

There is also a private dining room where residents can invite family and friends to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays and other special occasions.

Outings & Activities

Oakpark’s full-time Activities Director organizes a wide range of enjoyable activities for residents. That includes both regular outings (in our accessible bus) to local shopping centre and grocery stores, as well as special outings for picnics, sightseeing tours, boat trips, theatre, etc.

Activities are designed to stimulate both the body and mind, from exercise classes and outdoor nature walks to lectures and book reviews, along with a variety of entertainers who perform regularly in our large activity lounge.

Whether it’s bridge games with your new friends or enjoying some quiet time surfing the internet in the library, there is always something going on!
